No, this isn’t your typical plated food Instagram post.

I think we can all agree that we’ve all seen one too many of those. This is real commercial photography taken at the Lift restaurant in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We were fortunate enough to have them provide delicious, beautiful food for us to shoot; it was a really fun experience. At first, I had a hard time taking photos of plated food. I had no idea how to make it look like more than just food on a plate. But then I tried to get some fun angles and lines in my shots and the plated food seemed a little bit more interesting.

I was using the usual light source again, a continuous light, and there was also window light. I also went around the restroom and outside and took a few photos of the restaurant itself. It had a really fun atmosphere being right at the base of the ski lift’s and the food was great. I would definitely recommend the Lift restaurant to anyone.
