Lucky me I get to display a photo!
In a couple of weeks I get to display a fine art piece in the Communications building on campus. I am so excited about it. There’s something really rewarding about seeing your work in the flesh, in a frame, and on a wall in a public place.
I decided to display a photo from my trip to Victor, Idaho a month or so ago. I was using a macro lens and an Einstein light when I took this photo. I was zoomed in and then I would move back and forth very close to my subject until it sharpened up a bit. After that I turned my focus ring on my lens until it was totally in focus and took the shot. I was at ISO 200 at f/2.8.
The shot was a little light when I opened it up in Lightroom, so I dumped the exposure a little bit and brought my highlights and whites down so I could still see the detail in the light places. I bumped my contrast to help with the details again and then brought my vibrance up just a tad so you could see the real color that was there. Last, I brought my photo into Photoshop and sharpened it up using the Unsharp Mask and a Layer Mask.

This is beautiful!
